Description:

This was my entry for the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) student assessment scheme 2007. The assessment scheme is aimed at university students from around the world. It is quite a difficult competition to take part in with many entries being rejected and students dropping out of the project because of the extra work.

For this I designed and handmade a book about typography called ‘How to speak like a Typo-Geek’ . This book was a fun and quirky handbook for beginners showing them interesting facts about typography and how to do nice layouts. I did not need to design a whole book, but show the main cover design and a few pages.

The process involved may long hours staying behind to finish and make the book as well as a lot of research like going to lectures, reading many design books for inspiration and experimenting with letterpress. For this entry I scraped a pass and gained membership of the society.
